Windows 95/98/Me - Accessing the Printer Properties

There are two windows types you can use to open the printer properties dialog

box.

“Multi-tab” is used as an example in this manual. See Help for information

about changing the windows types.

❖ Multi-tab

This is the window type for users who often change print settings in order to

make various kinds of prints.

❖ Custom Setting

This is the window type for users who rarely change print settings when mak-

ing prints. The Custom Setting display may vary depending on the installed

options.

Changing the default printer settings

To make default printer settings, first open the printer properties dialog box

from the [Printers] window.

❒ With some applications, printer driver settings are not used, and the applica-

tion's own default settings are applied.

Click [Start] on the taskbar, point to [Settings], and then click [Printers].

The [Printers] window appears.

Click to select the icon of the printer whose default settings you want to

change.

On the [File] menu, click [Properties].

The printer properties appear.

❒ When you open the printer properties dialog box for the first time after in-

stalling the RPCS printer driver, a confirmation window appears. After

that, the initial display of the printer properties dialog box appears.

Make any settings you require and click [Apply].

Note

❒ With some applications, the printer driver's settings are not used, and the

application's own default settings are applied.

Click [OK].
