6. Attention

• It is recommended that the device access account, the Read Community Name, and the

Read/Write Community Name be changed from their default values. If the default value is used,

an unauthorized administrator will be able to easily gain access to device settings. Therefore,

using RCGSP’s batch configuration function to change each registered devices' community

name and device access account is highly recommended.

• When updating firmware, the device access account's password is encrypted using MD5. Since

MD5 hashes the password, a hacker using a packet capture can only collect the hashed

password. Also, users on an external network cannot initiate a firmware update operation, so

external hack attempts should not present a problem.
