1. Introduction

Acio SP C830DN and SP C831DN are high-

performance departmental printers. Print

dedicated versions of Ricoh’s Acio MP C4502 and

MP C5502 MFPs, they produce high-quality colour

and black-and-white output at speed. Equipped with

Ricoh’s genuine IPDS print option, they will also print transactional

documents, such as invoices and statements, directly from mainframe computer systems.

The high speed printers maintain impressive productivity. Acio SP C830DN produces single and double-sided output

at a speed of 45 A4 pages a minute, whilst Acio SP C831DN produces single and double-sided output at a speed of

55 A4 pages a minute. With a maximum (optional) paper capacity of 4400 sheets and a duty cycle of 200,000 prints a

month, there is seldom need to stop.

Acio SP C830DN and SP C831DN cater for a variety of needs, printing on to formats up to and including A3. The

bypass tray (a standard feature) will feed card stock of up to 300 gsm. Other trays feed media weights of up to 256

gsm. Acio SP C830DN and SP C831DN support printing onto plain and recycled paper, pre-printed letterhead

paper, bond, card stock, envelopes and coated media.

Finishing options include a 3000 sheet offset staple nisher, a 2000 sheet saddle stitch booklet nisher and a 4-bin

mailbox. The booklet nisher adds value, enabling Acio SP C830DN and SP C831DN to produce a variety of high-

quality nished collateral, including personalised mailers and brochures, newsletters, information sheets, yers and

posters. The mailbox enables departmental users to print to a specic mailbox tray so that work can be identied.

Ricoh’s new composition superne chemical toner ensures best in class image quality by expanding the colour

gamut. New fusing technology shortens warm up and recovery, reducing total energy consumption (TEC) and

minimising carbon emissions. Ricoh’s innovative ECO Night Sensor saves more energy by automatically switching

the printer off when dusk falls.

The new printers feature Ricoh’s Next Generation controller

architecture. New workow features facilitated by the controller

architecture include the ability to customise the control panel,

run intelligent workow solutions such as Streamline NX,

preview and print directly from USB/SD card memory and add

mandatory security information to printed documents.
